Commited TryHackme

Introduction

Hi all, in this entry, we will be using some simple linux commands to get our flag.

1) Unzipping zip file

First we list all the files and directories, and we find and interesting zip file.

we use unzip command to unzip it.

2) Using git command to list all the git log history

here we can see that there is a .git folder/path here, so we can safely assume that this challenge is going to revolves around git.

we then use git log --all to see all git history

here we can see an interesting "oops" which might indicate the mistake made as in the clue at the start of our challenge.

3) Git checkout (1)

we use git checkout to go into the commit history and see the details

here you can see that the username and password is hardcoded.

Even though we don't get our answer, but this indicates there is something that we can find inside the commit history.

4) Git checkout (2)

Now we dive into another commit history.

and as we expected, now we can see the flag is inside the other commit.
